So for now, I keep on learning about all that and feel reassured that I have at least a boot CD that let me use driveimage xml(DIX). Pray it wants to boot and not bluescreen. Boot the virtual machine to a bartpe or hirens with driveimage XML. It does get confusing real fast (at least for me) when one goes to try USB booting with secure boot on 圆4 EUFI/GPD hdd setups. Create a 2nd VirtualBox harddrive that can hold all the contents of the driveimage xml backup and attach this as well.

Essentially, you need to: have an WinXP install disk tell BartPe to grab the files it needs from there then add the DriveImage plugin.

Besides, my desktop is currently to far to plug into router and your iso doesn’t include drivers for my integrated wifi.Īnyhow, it will be interesting to see if the Win8PE gurus find out how to boot with secured boot left on. Surprisely enough, the first hit should be what you're after. I did not try drive snapshot as I kind of hesitate to connect to network having no security/firewall turned on. Support for Microsofts Volume Shadow Services means it can even copy files that are currently in use, and compression keeps the image file size to a minimum. The program is able to back up the drive you specify to an image file.

Hi, thanks I did burn it to cd and the iso did work once (like I suspected) I’ve turned off secure boot, set “Load Legacy OPROM” from UEFI to Legacy. DriveImage XML is an easy-to-use drive imaging and backup tool. Thanks again and sorry for the long double posts On the above mentioned forum, I’d be the first one to draw members to your thread and incite people to donations b-) So if you can find a BartPE Plug-in you can convert it and finish it the WinBuilder script editor. Make sure the Windows XP CD is in the drive, then click the folder icon next to Source, and select the root drive (ie: D:). Also download the DriveImage XML plugin for BartPE Builder (driveimagexml.cab). It is very kind of you and I admire that. Note that WinBuilder does have a Conversion from BartPE. Download BartPE Builder, a utility that can create a Windows Preinstall Environment. So I’d say anyway: thanks for your work and the very helpful knowledge sharing you’re doing here. Please tell me that x86 is fine, that I do not need 64 bit for gdp partitioned drives cloning and that the iso will boot – maybe wih just turning off fatboot, secure boot and turning on CST OS legacy mode. So if your iso can become a backup and rescue thumb drive for me, I’d be a very happy camper. Dang small screen smartphones press submit by mistake.Īnyhow, spent the last 2 weeks trying to find a way to get data back from that, learning new OS, reading and reading to try to find a free and reliable alternative to my old and trusted BartPE/DriveimageXML bckup/recovery solution… Last read was on WinPE for (WAIK) which seemed a little daunting (1.7 gig dl and lots to digest in – just for creating a new boot cd + cab / exec files…
